2013 Book List

Vintage WPA library poster, ca. 1941

With the new year upon us, I am happy to look over the 53 volumes read in 2013– 6 more than 2012. Last year, I joined Goodreads, a website that allows you to keep track of books read, find new book that meet your reading preferences, and to share books and reviews with friends. The site also has a “reading goals” function. Normally I do not set a reading goal as I am a fairly prolific reader anyway. I decided on 45 books, based on my previous year’s total, and quickly caught up to that sometime in October.  So, without further prattle, here is what I read in 2013:

  1. I love Neil Gaiman-what a good book! Weird Detectives was really enjoyable and anything by Joe Lansdale! Even though I mostly read horror and military/historical thrillers, I would like to recommend to you “The Little Bookstore of Big Stone Gap” by Wendy Welch. So enjoyable!
